Sheriff DAVE “HUTCH” HUTCHINSON of Hennepin County took office after the 2018 election, to step into a world of COVID-19 about a year and a half later, and the murder of George Floyd, among other crises. He relied on his friend and mentor, Sheriff TIM LESLIE of Dakota County, a long time friend of Access to Democracy program, for guidance and advice. Together they tackled some of the biggest problems that law enforcement has ever faced in Minnesota, but with it all, Hutch has instituted innovations which have received high praise. The two Sheriffs shared some of that experience and trauma for our viewers.
