Chris’ years-long interest in housing issues goes back to his time in public office, including six years on the St. Paul City Council and 12 years as mayor.
Habitat works with working families and individuals to help them achieve the dream of home ownership by providing resources and counseling for first-time homebuyers on how to find a mortgage to how to maintain their homes after closing.
Habitat is also focused on eliminating persistent racial disparities in our community which limit home ownership opportunities for many people of color. For most people, homeownership is the most important path to wealth accumulation. Habitat for Humanity works to make that path easier for more people.
