Alex Redding, the founder and host of a new podcast, “MSP Airport LIVE,” joins host Steve Francisco to discuss the hobby of “planespotting” and the excitement of watching commercial, cargo, military, and private aircraft takeoffs and landings at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Did you know that MSP began as a race-car track known as “Speedway Field” in the 1920s?
Today, approximately 800 flights take off and land at the airport which is the 17th busiest airport in the US.
Alex’ podcast provides interesting commentary and information on the many different flights and aircraft movements at MSP.
The podcast now has over 8,000 subscribers both here in Minnesota, and across the nation and around the world.
A self-described “Avgeek” (aviation geek), Alex explains why he is particularly excited by occasional weather or medical-related diversions that occasionally bring rarely seen aircraft to MSP, such as the recent brief visit of a Lufthansa A380 superjumbo jet.
This interview is a must-see for anyone who enjoys aviation and the thrill of flight.
