Professor Richard Logan, joins host Steve Francisco to share his insights and experiences living and teaching in Kenya and across Southern Africa in the 1960s and 70s.
Richard explains the lasting legacy of European colonialism across the African continent and how independent African countries have transitioned in the modern world. He also offers his observations about the increasing investments being made by China across Africa and how America is abandoning the advantages of its soft power by dismantling USAID and the Voice of America.
Finally, Richard shares his thoughts about the legacy of the late South African leader Nelson Mandela and how South Africa navigated its way from apartheid to a multiracial democracy. While many challenges remain, Africa has great potential for the future.
