Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon, and host Steve Francisco join to discuss Secretary Simon’s work as one of the state’s constitutional officers. While overseeing elections in the state’s 87 counties is one of his most important responsibilities, there are other responsibilities as well.
Secretary Simon strongly affirms that Minnesota’s elections are “fair, open, impartial, and secure” and explains the safeguards in place that make actual election fraud exceedingly rare.
Secretary Simon also explains how his office provides services to new businesses and nonprofits. The Secretary of State also maintains a database of collateral pledged to secure loans and a database for farm product liens. Notary public applications and renewals are also processed. Steve is particularly proud of the Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program that protects the safety of victims of domestic violence and others who may fear for their personal safety.
