Two features are always constant during his appearances: They are always an amazing education, and Host Alan Miller and Paul Anderson never quite cover what they plan to talk about and much is always left over – for the next time Justice Anderson comes to see us.

In this show they primarily covered three topics: The MN Capitol building restoration project, the recent trip to China, and the developments in the US Supreme Court.

The Minnesota Capitol building is one of the most beautiful and welldesigned building in the USA and has been recognized for its unusual features. Still, after 100+ years of service, maintenance items and wear and tear have taken their toll. The approach of the committee that guides the restoration is that “while already in there” other improvements and updates to the building are in order to bring it up to modern standards and make it work better for the People of Minnesota. The project is not without controversy, as Justie Anderson tells us.

The 4th trip to China where Justice Anderson taught and consulted, is another interesting part of the interview. Anderson’s impressions of China and how it manages the transition to a world power and the transition from a very centralized, autocratic regime to a more open society is worth listening to.

Host Alan Miller brought up the US Supreme Court and especially the unusual (for Supreme Court Justices) behavior of Justice Scalia lately. Other justices have not escaped critique. Justice Anderson provides insights from his own, similar experience as a Supreme Court Justice in Minnesota.
