Ron Goldser – Lawyer, author, political activist and wine aficionado all describe guest Ron Goldser in this interesting and informative interview with host Steve Francisco. Ron’s book, “No Small Coincidence: How Yale Alumni Made History in Minnesota,” describes the remarkable contributions that Yale alumni have made, and continue to make, to our state’s businesses, nonprofits, politics and more. He is also the host of the DFL Party Senate District 52 podcast “Coffee and Conversation” which provides a forum for lively political discussions. Ron also shares his experience as a trial lawyer and shares his love and knowledge of wine. Ron is also introduced to our viewers as a future guest host.

Hon. Paul Anderson, who retired from the MN Supreme Court in 2013, is a world-recognized and sought-after jurist for his knowledge of the law. Appointed to the Court by Governor Arne Carlson, Anderson has become an outspoken critic of the current US Supreme Court’s more controversial decisions, especially with the anticipated decision in Roe v. Wade concerning abortions. Justice Anderson did not hesitate placing blame for the diminishing reputation of the Court, as well as the responsibility of Congress for creating the composition of the current Court.

In an unusual episode, hosts and co-producers Steve Francisco and Alan Miller discussed in details their views of the Second Amendment and the indiscriminate chaos of mass killings permeating our everyday lives lately. They attempted to touch on relevant issues; from the wording of the Amendment, to the inclusion of the word “regulated” in its text, and highlighted recent massacres, the need for “red flag” laws, the gun show loophole, the need to keep weapons out of the hands of youth too young to possess them, to the shortcomings of our legislators and Congress to come up with a legislative solution, to the need for registration of firearms, and the role and responsibilities of the weapons manufacturers.
